THE TOWER
The work to deal with the infestation of feral pigeons will be carried out this week. This is essential work as it has reached the point where it could be regarded as a public health issue. There may be some inconvenience to those who attend weekday Mass.
THE CHURCH ROOF
A preliminary inspection of the rood has taken place. The initial report suggests that the main roof is in reasonable shape for its age. Good news indeed. The main areas of concern are around the edges where many repairs have taken place over the years. This has caused backup and ponding and needs to be addressed. Soon, some ‘opening up’ work will be carried out to determine the best course of action. When the initial inspection was carried out, it seems that there are areas of the house roof that also are causing concern. The architect has been instructed therefore to carry out a complete survey of all the roofs and I will keep you up to speed as information comes to me.
